a late sample

Well I was up late last night, and meant to blog this one this morning before the shows on QVC, but I was too tired and went back to bed!! Sorry!
This is the last one I have done, using those fabulous Toppers by My Craft Studio that sold out so quickly. I don't have to worry though as I ordered mine, lol, and a couple of other bits to play with!
This is using one of the large rectangle foiled/mirri'd toppers.
This kit has thoroughly stumped me! I love them, and I think all the other colours are as stunning as the Red, which I got, if not better!
This is an 8x8" card blank made from 300gsm A3 dark green card. The matt is using the Cheery Lynn Royal coved Rectangles Mega doily die, which I cut on my Happy Cut and no shims. As far as I know the Happy Cut is the Only machine able to do this without breaking. This is on a 350gsm Hammered White Card stock.
I cut a circle from the base card which comes with the kit, as I know now, and split it in half, separating the halves so that I could wrap the Sublime Metallic Twine round the gap, using the die cut as a means of keeping it straight. Next up the topper was placed over the top, using DST.
Now I needed to pull the green from the card base back into the design, so I used the last 3 of those scrummy Silver Rose hips (yes I ordered those as well lol) in my kit, and added a green leaf, as the silver reflects the silver in the die cut. Last but not least, 3 large clear gems in the remaining corners, and Job's a gud 'un!
If you didnt get chance to order them, or thought they were'nt for you, if you know someone who has got them, go and have a peep, they are so much better than any photo or camera work can show.
I have gone off kits recently, preferring to create my own designs, but I can honestly say that these toppers are so very unique, that I had to get them. The quality is superb, better than anything I have ever seen, and up until January I was a Hunky Dory Fanatic, and Kanban kit  fanatic, so that is saying something! The designs are lovely. I didnt buy much from QVC due to the postage rates, but I bought what I would have kicked my self for missing out on, these toppers, the flowers and the moulds.
Hopefully I have given you inspiration over the past few days in how to use these bits I was given, and if you did get them, I would love to be able to pop along and gain inspiration from you in return.

Hugs to all

so no posting to FB, no pinning to Pintrest, no blogging this what so ever you hear me,

ITS MINE!!!

not too much more I promise!!

Nearing the end, finally! Bit of over kill, possibly? But I wanted to make as much with the kit as I could, show it to its best advantage, and encourage you to combine, and think outside the box a bit!
So you cant really blame me can you now?
Okay, first thing I want to draw your attention to is actually the slight reflection you can see under the card, on the fabric of the Pashmina I photograph on. See the red, and slightly lighter area? Right above this writing?
The reason it is Photographed at this angle is so you have a chance to see the design on the Topper, instead of the reflection of the Camera Flash! And happily it has reflected down onto a completely non reflective Fabric surface. Doesnt that hint at the Brand new Foiling Technique? I dont know of any other foiled image that is completely foiled like these. It isnt Iridescent. its just foiled. It isnt Dufex!
DD came round yesterday, and she had to take a second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth look! She is still confuseled by how they managed to do it, and to be honest so am I!!
This is pre diecut, and needs nothing done to it, to make it special. But to make a card to do it Justice? Very hard work in deed!
Clean, simple, elegant, is how I decided to do this one.
A 6x6 inch square card base, a small piece of a red Backing sheet that came in the kit, the die-cut, and 8 red gems. Anything else will detract from the impact of the Topper.
So tune in tomorrow to see Steph on QVC with shows at 1,2, and 3pm! yes 3 hrs of Craft on QVC tomorrow!! yippee!!
Now if you want more, try checking back in a bit, I think there's another card left in me, maybe 2 lol, but in the meantime, check out my Teamie on this experiment, the lovely Sharon, who got the blue kit, and that is so scrummy, you can find her here.

Hugs to all, xxx

Yet more for MCS!!

Okay, Okay, not too much more I promise!!
Tomorrow see's the release of the New Products from My Craft Studio on QVC UK, and the end of the Swearing posts from me for a while!
So First today is a lovely card that came to me while playing around!
When I made the Tassel for the second card, I spread it out in various ways to see how it looked with various bits, as you do. This was a follow on from the white and red Poinsettia card, just using the poinsettia, and the twine to start with.
I cut the twine in strips of 2 1/2 inches, and frayed it all, applied loads of DST to a 3" circle, and spread it by twisting from the centre. Loads of Silicon Glue was used to secure the Poinsettia on top of it.
I must admit, what you are looking at is the second version of this card, I had a lovely Idea to make a circular frame, with an Acetate front to view the Poinsettia through, but I had to de-construct it, as it didnt work the way I wanted it to, Told you, I am an Honest Crafter!
So I had this circle with the Poinsettia, which I really liked, so what to do with it instead?
I will admit, that normally at night I craft in company, as my FG is on Skype and we craft away in different parts of the country, and I was messing around with this circle, Hmmn card, white, so out came an A5 folded card base, hmmn, okay some acetate? okay I liked it! so did FG, so I knew I was on the right track!
Okay Ribbon, over the top? yep that worked but it needed something to balance it..............
Hmmn...............
Not a die cut, but a sentiment, not too big, and maybe make a flat bow? FG was a bit confused at this point.
Hmmnn.........
Aha! Tonic Studio did some decorative staples! I have the kit, now do I have a Christmassy Sentiment,? Nope, Nope, that's Halloween, Nope, No, aha!
Oh B****r! its RED! Need a white, need a white, Blast No White!!!!
Okay, like it but it has to be WHITE!! what have I got that can turn it white?
Hmmn...........
Okay actually Saturday, whilst waiting for the removal van to return, we were helping DD move house back home, I made an excuse to visit a little Craft/Nursery shop in Featherstone, and I had already been frustrated by the fact that my White pigment ink pad had died on Friday night when the Kit arrived, so was after a new one, and picked up a nice white dye based pad, aha!!
Out it came, once hubby was safe in bed, as he didnt know I had been crafty shopping, oops! And I dabbed, and embossed and Dabbed and embossed, you can tell I was determined to turn this red staple white cant you? lol.
So eventually I had a white Happy Xmas Staple, yippee!
FG was still abit confused, by the Flat bow business, I guess I hadnt explained it very well, so out came the pins, to pin everything in place while I tried to persuade the staple machine to avoid the pins, and staple in the right place without moving the ribbon....easier said than done!
But eventually I did it! A flat bow, with a flat centre! Now just to stick it all together! Finished! "Tah dah!" I said.
Only to discover I had made an Australia card!!!! Oh NO!!!!!!! For those of you in Australia it would be an England Card, upside down!!
Out came the guillotine! And actually it does look very good with the small red edge to the white, ties it all nicely together, phew!!
Well that was a card and a half wasn't it, now how many of you are going to be honest and admit you've done it all too?

Hugs to all, especially my new followers, thanks for joining in, xxx

Gold pro Marker, for the feet and eye and beak.
Hunkydory foiled card, cut with spellbinders Labels 17.
the background image has been taken from a water damaged book of Art nouveau designs, and is part of a plate labeled 5 vines, confused I am, but never mind, theres not 5 in that plate that I can see!!
and base cream Cardstock trimmed to foloow the base design.

Another new product release

Well you must be getting sick and tired of all these , and I apologise for swearing, Christmas cards. But there's more to show, and you haven't seen half of it yet!!
This card is showing the Brand new Foiling technique My Craft Studio have devised. A completely foiled topper, yet you can still see the picture. It is NOT Dufex! It doesn't have the iridescence of dufex, and isn't intended to!
So to the card: A base card base, scored to form a drop in frame, which I removed. Metallic Twine, secured in the fold of the card to dangle the foiled topper from Jump rings.
The outside of the card was stamped with a V&A Christmas Border stamp in Versamark and silver dollar embossing powder, then coloured with Tim Holtz Fired Brick distress ink.
The inside has the same stamp in the fired brick, but isn't embossed.
Due to removing such a large piece of card, the frame can become unstable, and want to pray on you, so to stop it, I added a couple of folded pieces of card inside to stop it sliding down with the weight of the topper, which also allows the Topper to swing freely, and catch the light in any small breeze.
I LOVE these toppers, they are so Luxurious, and they really catch the light, I for one will have the old card ready for Wednesday I can tell you, I Nnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed these toppers!!
And they will be available 1-4pm on QVC on Wednesday!
more later, lol

My Craft Studio New products

Well here's card 3 that I created with the new products being Launched on QVC on Wednesday, by My Craft Studio!

This one is using more of the Brand new Acetate which will be available on QVC on Wednesday between 1-4pm.

Word of Warning.......This Acetate is gorgeous! You wont want to use it!! Its a really stiff acetate quite capable of standing on its own as a card base, But I didn't want to use so much of it on one card, hence, me being very Parsimonious with it, and only using small bits!! You wont want to be extravagant with it either!!

A piece of A5 white card, scored and folded in half lengthwise. The Acetate is an overlay, fixed to the card by a small strip on the back of the card. Told you I was parsimonious with it!
And a die cut using the Royal Coved Rectangle Mega doily die by Cheery Lynn. The sentiment has been stamped with Tim Holtz Fired brick distress ink, and the stamped sentiment, was a freebie with a craft magazine, I think.
Because of the details in the die, I was able to use the yummy Metallic Twine looped into the edge to provide definition and interest, and tied in a small bow.
The Twine is beautiful, and if you like the frayed look its very easy to achieve, as it is loosely wound.
Check back at 2pm for the next one lol

Hugs,
Lou

QVC New products........

Well here's card 2

This one is a 5x5 Square card base, embossed with Craft Concepts Funky Poinsettia embossing folder.
I cut 2 matts using Spellbinders Labels 4, one in red Mirri, and one in plain white card stock, and embossed the white piece while it was still in its frame.
That was the base sorted.
I made a tassel using the brand new Metallic Twine, which will be available on QVC on Wednesday between 1-4 pm, with My Craft Studio, as it does fray perfectly, and mounted it behind the Sumptuous Poinsettia, and Silver Rose hips, which are also New releases.
Simple, stunning, effective.
I am so in love with these flowers and twine, they are scrummy!!!

Pop back at 12 for the next release!!

QVC new releases....

Well I said to check back today to see what I have been playing with, so here's the full card, I am going to do each one separately, so you can see them in all their glory!
Here's card 1
This is fab!
I love this card!
The stamp is one of Pilkington Lanes Christmas scenes form last year, stamped in Tim Holtz Black Soot distress ink. But what makes this card stand out from the crowd is the Acetate!
The Acetate is one of the new products being released on Wednesday on QVC between 1-4pm by My Craft Studio! Its a very heavy acetate, scores well and holds it's shape excellently. It's beautifully pre-embossed with flourishes, this one's in Silver/white, depends on the light really.
A small gutted piece of this has been placed onto the Black card, and the stamped image matted on top of it. It makes the stamped image stand out, and Black and White Christmas cards can be very hard to do, and really gives it the touch of Luxury.
I mounted it onto a plain white card base, and used a Letraset Fine liner to create a small frame around the edge of the card and the stamped image. The black gems are positioned over the glue points holding the acetate in place.

Hope you like it, I must admit, its one of those products that I want to make the most of, and not waste a single snippet of, as it really is Luxurious!

Hugs, and don't forget to check back in a couple of hours to see the next one!

Lou

These are New Products which will be available from QVC by My Craft Studio as of Wednesday, and I must admit, they are extremely lush, so much so that I am being very parsimonious as to how I use them, yes I am Gutting!!

Down in the woods..............

Well this time I have tried to go for something a little bit different.
Sometimes I get accused of going too dark with my cards, so this time, I took the image and created the Woodland Fairy, in charge of the deepest hidden depths of the Forest.
For me this card, when you look at the details, is about recycling and rebirth, the skull, the spider, the new chick on her lap, the leaves falling around her.
The main Digi Image is Jeepers Creepers, By Heather Valentin, over at Scrapbook Stamp Society. Coloured with Promarkers, I know a lot of people list all the colours they used, but it doesn't particularly help if you don't have that particular pen set, so in all honesty I don't like to do that bit. Although I do have a large collection of Promarkers it doesn't always help if I have used a pen you don't have, does it? After all the whole idea is to provide inspiration for you, to encourage you to think about and do things in different ways........
So back to the card, the main matt is a piece of paper, punched with a Martha Stewart Punch around the page set, I worked from the corners inwards, as I knew that the design was going to be a touch too small for the measurements of the paper, okay I admit I WAS playing! But working from the corners, meant that in the middle of each side, there is a dividing line, which I quite like.
The torn Backing paper, is from a water damaged book of designs by William Morris, a Willow Pattern, some dimensional foiled leaves, and a small sentiment stamped from The Woodland Folk Stamp set by Docrafts.
on the spiders webs I used a quickie glue pen and some foil, and the eyes are some large blue gems.
I have asked someone elses opinion, and she is very relieved its not dark, she isnt a fan of Dark cards, so she likes this one, Phew!!!

Have fun, and do keep an eye on this Blog, there will be some surprises coming soon..........

Hugs

Well things are slowly moving..............

Generally southwards in my case, but hey-ho, that's how it goes, between ageing, and melting in the heat today!!
Here's a lovely Digi By Sherri Baldy, badly taken by my phone, and it was the 23rd photo of this particular card, at which point I have given up!!!
I AM going to get the battery charger plug replaced tomorrow, I DONT CARE HOW MUCH IT COSTS COZ I AINT DOING THIS AGAIN!!!!
Unfortunately due to the vagaries of my D*&(^%$! phone, the colour tones aren't quite right, It definitely looks better in real life.
So digi Lemonade for Sale, and boy could I use a nice glass of lemonade at this moment in time, 29 degrees today, here in Oldham! and promarkers.
Some added triangle for the additional bunting, to make the card flow into the backing paper, some green backing paper, some die cut Ice cubes, Oh that sounds nice, Ice cubes....mmn....cold,...mmmn Oh sorry where was I? Oh yes, the pre die cut shapes were another of those bits you get free in the monthly craft magazines, so Lemonade, Lime, and those Ice cubes....mmmn cold..mmmnnn, Sorry!
I managed to sneak into the Tange today, as there had been a bump on the motorway, and the Traffic was backed up for miles, and all that remained for this card was a suitable greeting, which came courtesy of Docrafts Woodland Folk, Bumper kit stamps, "Lets get Together", which I though was quite apt for this card, and just what I was waiting for, you know how sometimes you hit that wall, and you cant get past it, well this was one of those moments, and has been sitting here for a while, waiting for the last finishing touch, Sorry to hold on to it Sherri, xxx

right here's hoping that the breeze will pick up tomorrow, Hotter than Greece today!!!

Here's a list of challenges I am entering this in:

Stash to the rescue for the papers which were torn roughly, and the little piece of pre-embossed card that came with a magazine, was cut into strips, and used to make a border, as you do. Tuesdays Challenge...........

Well this week its a bit more demanding at LEJ Designs, so I do hope you have your thinking caps on for this one.............
First to the Housekeeping..............

This week there will be three prizes,

The first randomly  drawn name will win 3 digi's from LEJ Designs http://www.lejdesigns.co.uk/

The second name drawn out will win 2 digi's of their choice from Christine's Digi Adventure http://goonergirl-craftingheaven.blogspot.co.uk/

And the third name randomly drawn out will win a small selection of Lindsays handmade stick pins, nom nom!!!
So the challenge...........................
Anything But a card!!!! Got it? Okay then I will begin................
Well this for me is a continuation of Gimlets tale, the Seer Watching over Gimlet while he stole some thing from the Fairies, what he stole we are still waiting to find out, .....................

Right I am now getting to the point where I am going to  give up photographing projects with Acetate!! So apologies in advance, but it didnt matter what I did!!!

There is a small pearlised ball behind the glow on the acetate which actually made the problem worse!!
The Seer is peering over her shoulder at us as we look in on her. She is a wall decoration, of layered paper acetate and card, topped with an acetate dome.
So base image is from the shop, mounted onto some pearlised Cream Card. next is a layer of cream pearlised card, with a circular aperture cut into it. Then we have some acetate over some Snow from MCS. Oil on Water card, which I attacked with some Ranger Alcohol inks, to really raise the Oil on Water effect on the card, and finally a circular dome. This was fixed by using some green Holographic selotape, trimmed, and fringed so that it would curl around the edge of the circular decoration seamlessly.
Here's a close up version, having fiddled with it in Corel, and played with all sorts of settings, sorry for the watermark, I didnt realise it had ended up there! And now I cant remove it!!!
hope you like her, so what will you create for the Challenge?

Have fun,

Lou

late post for SSS

Well I am a Bad girl,
I was supposed to post this last week, but between rowing with Hubby, sulking at Hubby, then getting my own way with Hubby, before dashing off up North to see old girls from school, I am finally getting round to posting this one, sorry Girls,

I also apologise for the poor quality image but the battery re-charger has just died on me, so I am having to rely on my phone, not the best of Ideas!!
This is a lovely image of a young girl holding her teddy bear, and If you think the colours are wrong, and the eyes are different, I'll get mine out the loft!!! Mine has one green eye and one orange eye so there!!!
This Digi is called My Teddy 1, by Sherri Baldy and is available in the SSS shop. Originally I was going to do a little girls birthday card complete with number, but it evolved into something a bit more than a little girls birthday card.
Promarkers, are my pen of choice as many of you will know, so Ivory, Berry red, and Leaf green for the dress, Tan, Terracotta and Honeycomb for the Bear. Berry Red and Crimson for the bow, and Buttercup, Daffodil, and Yellow for the hair. I edged her with April Showers to make her Pop from the back ground.
Next up was actually raiding my box of bits, which sits on the side of my desk. Its full of Pre-embossed pieces, freebies from magazines, etc, and I matted her onto some Lime Green pre-embossed pearlised card. I found a piece of similar shade lime green paper in the box, only small, so I tore it into strips, and stuck it to a piece of red paper, again an oddment, and mounted the image onto it.
Another strip of the pearlised was cut to make a ribbon across the length of the card, and then I used some green ribbon from my stash, a wooden ornament from MCS, and some fired Brick Distress ink, and clear embossing powder, took care of the left hand side of the card.
Hmmn, what to do on the Right? okay, Flourishes! Some die cut flourishes, distressed with Peeled paint, and some small paper rose buds from my stash, some I coloured with Berry Red, some I left white. Finally 3 red gems to finish, and I really like this card!!

So if you like the look of her from my poor phone photo, why not pop to the shop, and get her for yourself, she's a sweetie!!
This is being entered in the Challenge at Passion for Promarkers challenge, Birthday theme

This weeks Scrapbook Stamp Society card

Well we have now decided that we will all have set days to post for Scrapbook Stamp Society, and its blog at addicted to stamps, and today its my turn!
Here's my Version of the Amongst the Graves by Heather Valentin

I must admit I sat and thought about this one for a while, and this is my second version, the first is somewhere in the detritus of my craft room floor!
I went with a theme in mind eventually, the baddie and the goodie, although she does look rather sulky lol
Promarkers to the rescue, as per usual, March Hare is a somewhat paler, greyer skin colour, so that was used for Baddie, and almond, and blush were used for Goodie. Gold gel pen was used to highlight Goodies metal work, and silver, a colder colour for Baddies.
As I had used Yellows and blues for the characters in the image, I then had to try to draw the card together, so I alternated the two colours in the backing papers, ribbons, and gems. I distressed a 5x5" square card blank, with some antique Linen, to take the edge off it, and inside the verse reads: " For Your Birthday, what will it be? Naughty or Nice?" and the next page has a picture of a chocolate bar, and the words "Go on, be a Devil!"
Hope you like them

Completely out of my Safe zone!!!

well I'm not too sure about this one, and you will have to excuse the photo, but its not quite dry, so I cant stand it up to photo it quite yet...........
so Opinions please?
My First tag!!!

I'm not at all sure about this, I dont know wether I have gone completely OVER THE TOP, just enough or completely missed the point of Tags?
The image is a new one from Scrapbook Stamp Society, one of 3 that I will post as soon as they are done.
This is Dana Ready to Dance ragamuffin. A lovely teenager on her way to the Prom, I think, as she has a corsage on her hand.
So the image itself was coloured with Promarkers, Fuschia, Carnation, Blossom, and Rose pink, with Walnut, Henna and terracotta for the hair. The skin is Almond and dusky Pink.
I used some Pink Tissue paper from my stash and layered it onto the tag, then turned the tag over and added the edge of a large doily, and liberally DTP transfered some Pigment Cotton Candy, and then some Dusky Concord Distress ink, and shoveled some clear embossing powder over the top, and I mean SHOVELED!
Next I added 2 pink feathers from my stash, and 3 large pink gems. And then I went mad with flowers down the lefthand side!! I coloured some of the white ones with my Fuschia Pink promarker and an airbrush, to co-ordinate them, and added a gemmed spray.
I took a long length of Fuschia Organza ribbon, made a layered bow, and then heated it with my heatgun, to crinkle it.
Some added detail with some Cosmic Shimmer silver pearlised glue, and crystal Accents, and a touch of vibrant fuschia glitter.
So Have I gone completely OTT? Or just enough? Or have I completely missed the mark?

your opinions?

Lou

Late LEJ Design Team post

Oh dear, well I sort of vanished off the face of the earth for a day or two here, sleeping I'm afraid, just got up from a 24hr sleep-a-thon! I wasnt worried as I knew I had shecduled this post, erm well I did for THURSDAY??? Sorry Lindsay, xxx

Here's my DT post for this week for LEJ Designs. The challenge this week is Lots of layers, and we do hope you will take part, as up for grabs are
For the Lots Of Layers theme we have two prizes again, the  first randomly drawn name will win 3 digi's of their choice from http://www.lejdesigns.co.uk/
and
The second name picked out will win a a £10 gift Voucher for Joanna Sheen's website which was very kindly donated to us by the lovely Vee Cassidy http://veecassidy.blogspot.co.uk/
Vee also joins us this week as Guest designer.
So to my design.

Lots of layers. well this was tricky, I had an idea in mind, as soon as I saw the image, the beautiful Tattered Fairy tiptoeing though the garden, so how to make it work for lots of layers?
Acetate! haha!
I just received some lovely iridescent chalks by Pebbles Inc, so I used them to colour the fairy image, and they really are nice to work with, I was a bit afraid that they would be a bit wishy-washy, but no they are nice and vibrant as you can see. So that was the Tattered Fairy done and dusted.
Now to build the rest of the card...........
I rummaged around to see what I had got, and found some of the MCS QVC TSV, the Quintessential Country Garden Paper pack, and the colour matched perfectly, result! So pink, nearly cardstock pre-glittered embossed backing paper...........
It has birds and flowers on it, okay I thought next?...........
From the same kit, some plain white diecuts, I used the Birds, and the Leaves, but they were plain white, so out came the Versamark inkpad, and Imaginsece Heart Vine stamp, which was then embossed with clear embossing powder. Then stamped again with Tim Holtz's Peeled Paint distress ink, and finally distressed with Fired Brick. The embossed areas have resisted the distress ink so give some real texture and depth to the vines and flowers, then it was simply a case of layering it up.
I created a 6x6" card base, and placed the backing sheet on it, then Tattered fairy, she is being Harrassed by the bird, then the Acetate with the Leaves mounted on it, and finally a sentiment stamped onto an off cut, and mounted at the base of the acetate, allowing one of the diecuts to be placed slightly higher than the other.
So there you have 5 layers.
So what will you create? All you need to do is go Here and enter, you never know you may win ...............

My Craft Studio?

Hmmn, well I think this is from a My Craft Studio disk. I found it in my little box that sits beside my work area, and is full of silly little bits, be they little pieces of coloured paper, or an Uncoloured digi, or a topper I havent used as yet, lol.
So it needed to be used.
Its printed onto photo paper, probably Polaroid, and I have lightly glittered the wings and skirt.
The background is some core-dinations card stock, embossed with Papermania's Funky Poinsettia, a very pale lilacy pink ribbon was sued to create the bow, and trim the side, and some small pearlescent squares just finished it off.

The last of my New Digi's

Well this is the last post of my new releases from Scrapbook Stamp Society.
I was supposed to post it last night, but in all fairness I did a lot of posting last night, some of which you saw, some is scheduled for other days.
And I have finally got into my craft room, having got up late, then watched the GP Qualifying, then back to bed, then cook dinner, watch the Voice, and just got in here.
The last of my Digi's is Peek-a-boo Baby, and is a cutie!
Actually one thing jumped out of my mind when I saw this digi. My Daughters first Birthday, and my Dad not getting her a present.
Now before you all start going "Huh?" which is what I thought at the time, he was even sweeter than normal, and my Dad can be a sweetie, for my Daughters First Birthday, my Dad got ME a present.
It was Delia Smiths Christmas Cook Book, and is still downstairs in my cook book shelf, and the kids aren't allowed to touch it! I mean in all honesty, a first birthday for a child, and grandchild, and they are showered with toys, and clothes, but how many Mum's are treated? Not many I guess, which is what made my Daughters first birthday so special to me, My Dad remembered ME! Ta Dada, xxx
So that was my theme for this card..............

Digi Image was Foiled before water-colouring with Aqua and Whispers marker pens, and cut with a Sizzix framelits die. The backing paper was Papermania's Capsule Collection, and some Peach Core-dinations, embossed with Papermania's Silent Night embossing folder, and sanded back. Some tattered Rose distress ink, was used to distress the die cut, and a peach Ribbon, some coral pearls by Papermania, and a sentiment printed off my pc, Inside the verse reads ".........that I love you more with each passing Day. Happy Anniversary of our Baby's Birth."
And I really wish I had a man as sweet as my dad!!!, xxx

Hope you like her, coz I do!!

Hugs, and thanks for popping by, and your kind comments, xxx

Lily of the Valley

Well sometimes I pick up some bargains from the craft shows, and this pre-stamped image was one of those bargains.
This is a Lily of the Valley digi, and came with about 20 others from either Doncaster or NEC last year.
Sometimes I just sit and colour in, and will admit, that this one has been sitting there for sometime, until I figured out what to do with her! Ooops!
Now I can say for definite that she is Promarkered, and Distressed with Tumbled Glass. Die cut with Tear Drop circles, with a light green ribbon threaded through the holes.
Glittered with some Light green grass glitter, and mounted on a sheet from the old faithful K&Co 360 pad, of 12x12" papers.
A small 5x5" card which will go through the post nicely, though I really cant believe the cost of an ordinary stamp now-a-days! Ridiculous, and I suppose that's why my cards this week have been mostly Flat, with no dimension!

Birthday Girl

Well the third for tonight from Scrapbook Stamp Society!
Birthday Girl with Words. A lovely Image, suitable for anyone who likes Cake!!
And I like the way it turned out. Okay so I am going through a foil everything Phase, but the words were sort of screaming it!!
As with the previous two Scrapbook Stamp Society cards I have shown tonight, Whispers and Aqua marker pens were prevalent, sorry!
I created an outside step card, measuring 1" in from the edges and scoring and cutting, and trimmed it with half inch wide Gingham "Yeehaw" pink ribbon. I found some pink buds in my stash with 2 green leaves and made little bouquets for the corners.
The image is glittered as well on the cake, shoes, and little heart in her hair ribbon, and mounted onto some pink glitter card.
A pink Ink it up Pigment pad, and some clear embossing powder dealt with the post stamp, I like this one, as a remembrance card for this year, and then I used Tim Holtz's Tattered Rose distress ink, quickly covered with clear embossing powder, before it dried, as the watermark. The stamps are Papermania Urban Stamps from the Portabello Rd range.
Another cute one, and I must say, much as I enjoy trying to put a different twist on some stamps, (catch my next scheduled post on the 18th of this month,) I have enjoyed the stamps I have used today,

Hugs, and just a couple more to go, lol

Cafe Paris

well yet another newbie from the stable of Scrapbook Stamp Society.
This one I have deliberately kept very simple. Purely because I love the image, its clean simple and is quite capable of standing on its own.
Again I foiled the digi, before colouring, and again, used a mixture of Whispers and Aqua marker pens. The gold is the Letraset metallic Gold marker, which is a water-based pen, and not to be used with my pro-marker nibs, kids!!!

I had gone for blue on this one, as the next 2 are definitely pink themed, lol, so I needed something different!
So a pastel blue base card made from a sheet of A4, then a piece of pale blue patterned backing paper, and a small rectangle of Blue paper. I have a Xyron, and the starter disk has the Eiffel tower on it, so I put it to repeat, and dragged it randomly over the sheet of paper.
Then Jaunty angles abound as I placed it on the card base, I edged the main image in a silver paint pen, and fixed that in place. The sentiment was printed out on my PC, and cut with a Whimsy Notables die, I am still waiting for the stamps for this to arrive from Oyster, and a touch of glitter on the steam from the Cafe!
Simple and clean, and I love the image!

New Images from Scrapbook Stamp Society

Okay ladies and gents second post for tonight.........
This one is the first in a series of new Scrapbook Stamp Society images that I will post tonight, this is La Stache!

Okay so your probably wondering what on earth is going on in the first picture, well if you have digi stamps, and you have access to a hot enough laminator, or even better a Foil-it by Patsy-May, then you can foil the images from a laser printer. Which is what the first picture shows, the foiling on the digi image. So get the old laminator out, and PLAY!!!
I used Whisper, and Aqua Markers for the colouring, both are water based, and applied to supersmooth card. They also polish off the foiled  areas very nicely.
I created a decorative base using the Cheery Lynn Reflections Boutique Mega Doily, on some hammered cardstock, and used the Spellbinders Frameabilities Polka Dot Frame, to create a mirror frame for the image. Silver ribbon, a couple of feathers, gems and some pearl wired gems, added to a printed sentiment finish the card.
and that's card 2 for tonight!

Lol

What a dipstick!!

Well last night caused me some panic I can tell you!!
I had read the new challenge over at Paper Crafting Journey as Monochrome. Well it isn't Monochrome, and here was me with a lovely card, all done and dusted, and it was wrong!!!! And I didnt realise until late last night!!
So a frantic re-do of the card, and I managed to mess up a couple of times, but boy was I stressed!

The Challenge is ACTUALLY BLACK and One Other Colour, but Skin tones are allowed, where needed!
I had done this one in red originally, which I will post later, as it is lovely, but here's my Black and white version!

The Challenge this week is sponsored by Louby Loo, and I am introducing Chef Luigi and you can get him as a transparent digi, or coloured.
So I used a Papermania Birthday Cake stamp, with some Tim Holtz distress ink, Black soot, and some clear embossing powder, on some coated cardstock. It helps to keep the ink wet for embossing when using something like Distress inks, as the ink doesnt soak into the fibres and dry too quickly to the powder to stick.
The I printed Luigi off onto some paper, and used black promarker for his clothing. As skin tones are allowed, I was able to used Almond, Pastel Pink, and Blush for his face and hands. I then cut him out, and placed him on the top of the cake.
the sentiment was printed from my pc, and I punched 2 holes through the sentiment, and used foam pads to raise it slightly. Some black gems for the corners, some Crystal accents for the boots, moustache, and hat, and mount it all onto some Black A4 card, scored down its length.
A CAS card, and I hope you like it, lol, though I do prefer the red personally, and I'll post it later, so no one gets confused lol, like I did!
Dont forget the challenge over at Paper Crafting Journey is Black and one other colour, not Monochromatic!!
Have fun guys and girls, xxx

Second Challenge DT Card,

Well the challenge over at LEJ Designs, seems to have been a roaring success! Loads of entries which is lovely!
and so to my second DT card for LEJ, and I am sorry but who on earth could resist this little chap? Meet Gimlet everyone!

Now Gimlet has been really naughty and stolen something from the Fairies, and is having to run away quick , before the might of the Fairy world descend on him in vengeance!
I printed him on some Pearlescent centura Pearl paper, and used some Papermania, Midnight Fairy, and Hampstead collection stamps with some FlitterGlue, and Gilding Flakes, who says you cant mix digi with traditional? I coloured him with Promarkers, and used 2 MCS die cut Birds, from the Quintessential Country Garden Paper stash Kit, which I embossed with some Glittered silver embossing powder, and mounted it all on some green card, and then some more of the beautiful pre-glittered Paper, well actually its very nearly card, from the MCS kit. Then made it into an easel card.
I stamped the sentiment from the Hampstead stamps, and flittered it to match the main image, added a piece of ribbon, and 3 light green, and 3 dark Green gens, and its finished, and I really like it, I hope I can find some more fab digi's like this to continue Gimlets tale, but you'll have to check back to see wether I have or have not lol,

Have fun Guys and girls and do pop over to LEJ Designs, for the current challenge, Things with wings!
This week you have 2 sponsors, LEJ Designs, who are offering 3 digi's, and I'm Charmed who are offering 20 Mixed charms, ooh I want them!! Both!

Hugs to all,

Lou

this weeks SSS image!

Well here's the image for this week for my DT card for SSS.
This ones very gothic, I was in a state last month due to Hard drive failure, so I asked Heather Valentin to select the images for me, and really I should have known what I was going to get, lol. Ta Heather, xxx
so here's my card for this week.................

This is Tempest Lil Gothie. Just sitting there waiting. Waiting, waiting waiting!
So how do you deal with the image? For me, she's in some kind of Cage or dark place, waiting to be released. So the card has to reflect what I see.
Dark blue, nearly black pearlescent base card, embossed with an A4 touch of mica, gears mask, sanded to reduce the finish, to symbolise Time.
Silver Buckram paper with a metalic mesh effect, for the cage, and flowers made with Spellbinders Spiral Blossom One. Black pearlescent card for the leaves, and finally some black organza Ribbon, heated with the heat gun, to wrinkle and crinkle it.
And lots of grey Promarkers! a couple of red, a purple, and my favorite skin colour of the moment, March hare. Some gems, and a sentiment printed in MCS Chiller font, edged with a silver paint pen, and added to the base, more like a plaque than a sentiment.
The inside, is a base sheet from a free MCS download, a poppy, opacity reduced to match the faded, black grey theme of the card.
So I am now off to drive middlest back to College! Boring, and will do things like entries, and comments later, lol. In the Meantime, why not pop to SSS and have a look around, it doesnt cost anything to look.....
